The plant has 42 chromosomes in a plant cell, unlike small timothy grass (Phleum pratense subsp. Serotinum), which has 14. It is a very nutritious grass that grows along roads, dikes, and in pastures. For sowing in grasslands, there are so-called pasture types and hay types. The pasture types bloom later than the hay types. It handles mowing well but is less resistant to grazing. It is a perennial, sod-forming grass species that can grow 40-150 cm tall. Just like our various clovers, it enriches your grassland. You can also use it together with other plants from our range in grass mixtures. We have a very high livestock density on very dry sandy soil. That's why we have to irrigate. At 30°C, grass no longer grows despite irrigation, but Saladebuffet (Salad Buffet) just keeps going.
